I'D RATHER BE IN BETHLEHEM TONIGHT
It’s Christmas Eve and all the late night Christmas shoppers are
hurrying home. The snow is gently falling while the last bus to the
country stands alone. Sitting in the backseat watching faces glow and
fade in neon light. I’m going home for Christmas but I’d rather be in

Bethlehem tonight.

It’s Christmas Eve and half the little children in the town are wide
awake. They want to see if Santa Claus will come and eat their piece
of Christmas cake. Some have their suspicions and are waiting for the
chance to prove him right. Happy in their world of dreams but I’d

rather be in Bethlehem tonight.

Just to hear the angel’s song and hear the proclamation of His holy
birth. The tidings of great joy bringing peace to all the people on this
earth, yes it is. Just to be a shepherd sent to worship and adore the
newborn king, Hallelujah. Just to be in Bethlehem tonight, you know

that I would give anything.

Taking out my Bible reading words I’ve read so many times before. A
story weaves its vision gently leading me towards a stable door. Here
within I see a mama and a child under the lantern light.  I’m coming
home for Christmas, but I found myself in Bethlehem tonight. I’m
coming home for Christmas, but I found myself in Bethlehem tonight.

O HOLY NIGHT

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour’s birth;
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
'Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn;

Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angel voices!
O night divine! O night when Christ was born.
O night, O holy night, O night divine.

SILENT NIGHT
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
'Round yon virgin Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight!
Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia!
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born!
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, oh, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
WALK IN THE LIGHT
Hark! the herald angels sing.
Jesus, the light of the world.
Glory to the newborn King,
Jesus, the light of the world.
Refrain:

We’ll walk in the light, beautiful light.

Come where the dewdrops of mercy shine bright.
Shine all around us by day and by night.
Jesus, the light of the world.
Joyful, all you nations, rise.
Jesus, the light of the world.
Join the triumph of the skies.
Jesus, the light of the world. [Refrain]
Christ, by highest heaven adored.
Jesus, the light of the world.
Christ, the everlasting Lord,
Jesus, the light of the world. [Refrain]
Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace.
Jesus, the light of the world.
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Jesus, the light of the world.

THE NIGHT THAT CHRIST WAS BORN
Listen to the angels rejoicing ever so sweetly
Receiving Heaven's glory, the night that Christ was born
Can't you see the people coming from every nation
Pleading for salvation the night that Christ was born
Oh such a wonderful Savior to be born in a manager
So that I can share His favor and my heart be made anew
Listen to the trumpets, shouting through the darkness
Crying, Holy, holy;, the night that Christ was born
Oh such a wonderful Savior to be born in a manager
So that I can share His favor and my heart be made anew
Listen to the trumpets, shouting through the darkness
Now behold our Saviour, the night that Christ was born

JOY TO THE WORLD
Joy to the world the Lord is come
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room

And heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing
Joy to the world, the Savior reigns
Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy
He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love, and wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders of His love

Listening to God’s Word and to God’s messages for you. Make a few
personal notes as you listen. Revisit your notes during quiet time spent
with the Lord over the coming week. Allow God to crystallize His truths
in your life.
