Hearts Around Framingham
We are so proud of the artist work that adorns the front of the church when you enter. It was created by our very own Michael Talbot. Here is what Michael says about his creation:
Our heart design for the heart sculpture by GFCC is called "New Growth, New Generations."
One side of the sculpture will depict a sprouting seed and new green roots reaching out into its surroundings, while the other shows the stump of an already fully grown, deep rooted, yet harvested tree but with a new sprout growing from one edge of the stump. The idea/concept is to highlight the importance of planting and nurturing new seeds/individuals and encouraging that new growth within the community, while honoring and acknowledging the importance of one's roots as well as previous generations, and how that also helps with developing and nurturing these new growths within individuals. The design utilizes black, gold, and green as a nod to the sizable Jamaican populace not just within GFCC, but also within Framingham as a whole. Additionally, it pays homage back to the summer camp I grew up with during my time in Jamaica, also titled "New Generations Summer Camp."
Sincerely,
Michael Talbot
